Last year, fans of The Chosen were given the opportunity to see the premiere and finale episodes of season 3 together in theaters. The season ended with the enemies of Jesus closing in while His followers continue struggling to keep up, leaving Him to carry the burden alone. According to Dallas Jenkins (who serves as the show’s writer, director and producer) the next season promises to deliver where last season’s emotional walking on water finale left off. Early next year, the full slate of shows for season 4 will be released in theaters. But before then, another Chosen project will also be in theaters during the holiday season. It’s just another example how the groundbreaking historical drama series continues to break the mold of how Hollywood does things.

“Every time we’ve dipped our toes in the theatrical waters, viewers have overwhelmingly told us they want more” says Jenkins. “After seeing the Season 4 episodes, we knew we’d be doing our fans a disservice if we denied them the chance to see them all on a big screen with others they can laugh and cry with.”

The rollout of Season 4 in theaters via Fathom Events will begin with a two-week run of Episodes 1-3 on February 1, 2024, followed by Episodes 4-6 beginning February 15, and Episodes 7-8 beginning February 29 via Fathom Events in the U.S. and Canada. The premiere episodes will also be released in theaters in LATAM, the UK, Poland, Australia, and New Zealand via a consortium of distributors. After the full season run in theaters concludes, The Chosen will announce the debut across streaming platforms including The Chosen TV and mobile apps, broadcast and cable TV.

Jenkins also recently announced that two previously Christmas-themed projects, The Messengers and The Shepherd will be combined this year into a new remastered and re-scored story. Christmas with the Chosen: Holy Night will also feature a never-before-seen performance from Andrea and Matteo Bocelli, seven music performances and two new monologues. The six-day limited engagement will also be distributed through Fathom Events and shown in theaters December 12-17, 2023. Tickets will go on sale in the U.S. and Canada beginning on November 20, 2023.

What started as a crowd-funded project, The Chosen boasts of over 600-million-episode views and 10 million social media followers. Starring Jonathan Roumie, The Chosen tells the story the life of Jesus as seen through the eyes of those who knew him. Set against the backdrop of Roman oppression in first-century Israel, the show shares an authentic and intimate look at Jesus’ revolutionary life and teachings.

The series has become one of the most-watched shows in the world. It has become a cultural phenomenon. It can be viewed virtually anywhere for free including The CW TV network and streaming services such as Amazon Prime, Peacock, and Netflix. And due to the efforts of the Come and See Foundation, The Chosen is on pace to be the most translated series in history, as the first three seasons will soon be available in 50 languages with plans to subtitle the series in more than 600. Come and See is a 501(c)(3) established by a group of passionate believers and professionals coming alongside The Chosen to not only grow its reach but also its impact globally.
