There are high hopes that The Devil Wears Prada 2 will be just as popular as the first film. In a first (that I’m aware of) Disney+ and Hulu will livestream the red-carpet event for the film’s world premiere. Plus, Michael Jackson’s biographical film, last week’s top ten movies, coming attractions and more.

Jaafar Jackson as his uncle, Michael Jackson in Michael (Universal and Lionsgate)

Who better to portray Michael Jackson than his nephew, Jaafar Jackson. The son of Jermaine Jackson not only looks like Michael, but he also sounds like him too. It’s hard to say if the biographical film will be good or not. It has been in production since 2019, and it is highly controversial. Jackson’s life was a fascinating one where the singer almost made more headlines about his personal life than his music. Some fear that the story will be too sanitized.

Directed by Antoine Fuqua, Michael attempts to tell a large portion of Jackson’s life from his early days singing with his brothers as the Jackson Five to his controversial latter years. Due to some legal reasons, it was reported that the last third of the movie had to be reshot.

The final film clocks in just over two hours, but apparently, it had been three-and-a-half hours long, which would have been a long time to sit through. In addition to seeing Jaafar recreate many of his uncle’s dance moves on stage, the movie also shows just how controlling his father was. As expected, many of the singer’s popular hits will be featured too. Many of the scenes shown in the trailer look really authentic as if they were real footage.

Michael stars Nia Long, Laura Harrier, Juliano Krue Valdi, Miles Teller and Colman Domingo.
