John L. Cooper Can’t Keep His Book on the Shelf

John L. Cooper, the lead vocalist, bassist, and songwriter/producer for the band Skillet can’t seem to keep his book, Awake & Alive to Truth (Finding Truth in the Chaos of a Relativistic World) on the virtual shelf. Released late last year, the self-published book has already had at least two printings. The first run sold out on its release day.

At first glance, Cooper might not look the part for a best-selling author with his tattooed arms and guyliner, but this rocker has found that he has a lot to say. After 23 years of touring the world to a variety of audiences, the rocker says he’s noticed one consistent issue – people are desperately confused.

In the fall of 2019, Cooper launched his Cooper Stuff Podcast following the chain reaction to a popular post he titled “What In God’s Name is Happening in Christianity?” dealing with faith leaders and ‘influencers’ falling away from their faith. Since then, Cooper has taken hot-button issues head-on, and gained an ever-growing audience. This is in addition to two graphic novels (Eden and Eden II: The Aftermath) also written by Cooper.

Awake & Alive To Truth tackles the reigning philosophies of our day of post-modernism, relativism, and the popular view of the goodness of man-and combats these viewpoints by standing on the absolute truth of the Word of God. The attempts to answer some of the most asked questions in modern culture and contains some of the author’s personal stories. Other topics in the book include the doctrine of original sin, the authority of Scripture, the danger of trusting your emotions and more.

Awake & Alive to Truth, a softcover book, sells for $17.99 and will be sent out at the end of the month. It can be ordered here.
