For one night only, the documentary, NEEDTOBREATHE: Into the Mystery will be shown in over 500 movie theaters in the U.S. with Fathom Events on Wednesday, November 3, 2021. Directed by Chris Phelps and produced in partnership with Elektra Records and Foundations Music, this documentary chronicles the unique recording of the band’s latest album which was released earlier this summer. What makes the making of the album so unique? Well, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic turned the band into sneaky ninjas camping out at a historic house, somewhere in Tennessee, which they turned into a workable recording studio, a feat not easy to do.
While it normally takes months to work on albums, these guys through together a great piece of work in just three weeks! During this time, they hunkered down under one roof and handcrafted this album which is reflective of this difficult time. In the end, the work just might contain the most important music that NEEDTOBREATHE has ever done.
Into the Mystery offers a rare look at the collaboration of artists at the height of their creative powers who are struggling with the same fear and isolation that has affected everyone the last 16 months.
“We’re big fans of music documentaries where you get to actually watch the artist creating in the space where the record is made,” said NEEDTOBREATHE. “Getting to see an idea stretch and grow into a finished song is really inspiring, but we’ve never really let our fans see behind the curtain. Now people will get to pull up a chair and become a part of the process as we create our eighth studio album in an old house in the hills of Tennessee.”
