While some people are planning on watching all nine of the original movies during Star Wars: May the Fourth, you might want to go in a different direction. If you’re a fan, you probably already know that Spotify features a Best of Star Wars playlist, but beginning today, it just got more special with an interactive Lightsaber Scavenger Hunt, but it’s mobile only.

“As specific songs are played, listeners will receive a message from characters announcing they have unlocked a lightsaber,” says a press release. “Once a listener has collected all five, check back later for a special message coming from a galaxy far, far away.”

It’s pretty popular with Californians, Texans and Floridians – they rans as the top three states with the most streams. The most played songs from 2023? “Star Wars” (Main Theme) by John Williams, “The Imperial March” (Darth Vader’s Theme) also by John Williams and “The Mandalorian” by Ludwig Göransson. Overall, the playlist has been streamed over 70 million times since it was created.

Spotify Audiobooks has also chosen today to launch their Sci-Fi & Fantasy Essentials Hub. The sci-fi and fantasy genre is super popular on Spotify boasting for being in the top three for completion rates for audiobooks. Those who belong to Spotify Premium (In the U.S. Australia, Canada, Ireland and New Zealand) now have access to 15 hours of monthly audiobook listening time. The company is encouraging fans to check out titles from The Essential Legend Collection which includes Yoda: Dark Rendezvous or Timothy Zahn’s top-streamed Heir to the Empire (Star Wars Legends), which currently is the top streamed Star Wars-related audiobook on Spotify.

Yoda: Dark Rendezvous is narrated by Jonathan Davis and is described by Spotify as “A gripping Clone Wars – era adventure featuring a showdown between Grand master Yoda and his former apprentice, the sinister Count Dooku.”

Heir to the Empire (Star Wars Legends) is narrated by Marc Thompson and is described as: “A special 20th anniversary edition of the #1 New York Times bestselling novel the reignited the entire Star Wars publishing phenomenon.”
