More than likely, it will be Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve which is celebrating its 50th year as an annual TV special. But if not, NBC, CBS and CNN are also offering similar presentations awaiting the big ball to drop at Times Square. However, FOX is only offering leftover Christmas editions of Beat Shazam, Gordon Ramsay’s Road Trip and I Can See Your Voice.
Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest
The most-watched New Year’s Eve celebration is back for the 50th time on ABC. It’s easily America’s favorite NYE tradition celebrating a variety of music performances. Beginning at 8 p.m., the special features Seacrest and Liza Koshy in New York, Ciara in Los Angeles, Billy Porter in New Orleans and Roselyn Sanchez in Puerto Rico for the show’s first Spanish-language countdown. Performances include LL Cool J, Chlöe, Journey, Karol G, AJR, Daisy the Great, Avril Lavigne, Travis Barker, Big Boi, Sleepy Brown, Don Omar, Nio Garcia, French Montana, Macklemore, Ryan Lewis, Windser, Måneskin, Mae Muller, Polo G, Masked Wolf, OneRepublic and Walker Hayes.
New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash
For those who prefer country music, CBS and Paramount+ is the destination of choice. Hosted by Bobby Bones and Rachel Smith, this special begins at 8 p.m. The five-hour broadcast will feature over 50 back-to-back performances across multiple time zones, live from the destination home of country music. Nashville will count down with the East Coast at midnight and keep the party going through midnight Central Time with the city’s renowned Music Note Drop®. Performances include Lady A, Ingrid Andress, BRELAND, King Calaway, Riley Green, Sam Hunt, Chris Janson, Jon Pardi, Carly Pearce, Lainey Wilson, Jason Aldean, Jimmie Allen, Kelsea Ballerini, Gabby Barrett, Dierks Bentley, Brooks & Dunn, Luke Bryan, Elle King, Miranda Lambert, Darius Rucker, Blake Shelton, Cole Swindell and Zac Brown Band.
Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party Hosted by Miley Cyrus and Pete Davidson
After a number of years of lackluster entertainment, NBC is going in a completely different direction this Friday with the help of Saturday Night Live’s executive producer, Lorne Michaels. This year’s wildcard doesn’t begin until 10:30 on NBC and Peacock and stars the odd couple, Miley Cyrus and Pete Davidson celebrating in Miami Florida. Performances include Brandi Carlile, Billie Joe Armstrong, Saweetie, Anitta, Jack Harlow, 24kGoldn and Kitty Ca$h.
CNN’s New Year’s Eve Live
CNN’s annual special features Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen ringing in the New Year live from Times Square beginning at 8 p.m. ET. Don Lemon, Alisyn Camerota and Dulce Sloan will co-host live at 12:30 a.m. CT from New Orleans. The program will also feature CNN correspondents at celebrations across the country, including CNN’s Stephanie Elam from a Las Vegas dance party, Randi Kaye in Key West, Richard Quest from the top of a NYC skyscraper, Chloe Melas from Times Square, Gary Tuchman and his daughter Lindsay Tuchman in Puerto Rico, Coy Wire from Minneapolis, and Donie O’Sullivan live outside a NYC Irish Bar. Katy Perry will headline the program from Las Vegas along with many other special guest stars throughout the night, including William Shatner, Patti LaBelle, Earth, Wind & Fire, Duran Duran, Amanda Gorman, Patti LuPone, David Arquette, Leslie Jordan, Cheri Oteri and others.
