This Day in Pop Culture for December 24

Ryan Seacrest

1974: Ryan Seacrest is Born a Christmas Eve Baby

Little Ryan John Seacrest was born on this day in Atlanta, Georgia in 1974. It isn’t very surprising to learn at instead of playing with toys or games, Seacrest would rather pretend to be interviewing at a very early age. At age 16, he won an internship at WSTR radio station in Atlanta. Three years later he moved to Hollywood to follow his dream. His first television gig was for ESPN’s Radical Outdoor Challenge in 1993. After hosting various children’ TV shows, the NBC Saturday Night Movie and the practical joke show, Ultimate Revenge for TNN, Seacrest got his big break hosting American Idol in 2002. He co-hosted Dick Clarks New Year’s Rockin’ Eve in 2005 and will continue that gig for the foreseeable future. He began co-hosting Live! With Kelly and Ryan on a regular basis in 2017.
