20th Century Fox has announed that prouduction has begun on the new adventure comedy, Free Guy which will star Ryan (Pikachu) Reynolds and will be directed by Shawn Levy. Shooting in Boston, the film co-stars Jodie Comer (from Killing Eve), Lil Rel Howery (Get Out), Taika Waititi (Avengers: Endgame), Joe Keery (Stranger Things) and Utkarsh Ambudkar (Mulan)
According to the press release, Free Guy tells the story of a lonely bank teller who discovers he is actually a background character in the open-world video game Free City. Free Guy will be released by The Walt Disney Studios on July 3, 2020.
