Picture this: It’s Monday morning and you’re getting ready for work. You reach in your kitchen cupboard for your stash of coffee beans for your first cup of Joe for the day. You open up the bag and horror of all horrors – it’s empty! Who you gonna call? Ghostbusters! Okay, so the Ghostbusters are not making coffee these days, but they are the inspiration for a new coffee brand that is sure to get some attention: Pop Culture Coffee.

After 20 some years investing in various collectors’ markets, entrepreneur Ethan Terra founded this new brew that attempts to blend a magical mix of 100% organic, fair-trade Arabica beans, exciting new and natural flavors and pop icons. Consider it a way to fuel fans’ passions.

“My lifelong passion for movies, pop culture, collectibles, and coffee led me to establish Pop Culture Coffee,” says Terra. “We are driven by a singular purpose – to fuel people’s passions. Whether it’s art, movies, anime, music, gaming, sports, or celebrity icons, we all have something we’re enthusiastic about, and that enthusiasm should be championed. In a world where millions rely on coffee to kick start their day, we believe that coffee should be nothing short of extraordinary.”

Terra isn’t going on this new coffee adventure on his own. He is joined by Kyle Newman and Lukas Kendall. Newman is the director of various movies including Fanboys, A24’s Barely Lethal, 1UP for Lionsgate and he is the co-director of the upcoming Dungeons & Dragons 50th Anniversary documentary. He is known for the Hugo-nominated Art & Arcana, the New York Times bestseller-turned-TV show Heroes’ Feast and their respective sequels.

Kendall is the founder and publisher of Film Score Monthly, a magazine, website and CD label devoted to movie music. Since 1996, Kendall has produced, released and consulted for over 500 soundtrack albums of classic film and television scores including franchises such as Star Trek, Superman, James Bond and Planet of the Apes.

All of Pop Culture’s coffees are triple-picked by hand, ethically sourced from unique origins all over the world and small-batch craft roasted to ensure a rich and flavorful cup of coffee with every brew. Beyond the cup, Pop Culture Coffee has an entire department dedicated to meticulously pairing natural flavors for explosive great-tasting flavor-fusions. The end results? Fans will have the opportunity to enhance their coffee-drinking experience while showcasing their love for pop culture.

One of the first batches of Pop Culture Coffee has been inspired by Sony Picture’s Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire which is packaged in shiny collectible packaging. The limited-run coffee blend include:

  • Ecto-Espresso (A caramel-chocolate blend featuring the franchise favorite, Slimer)
  • Puftmello (A vanilla-marshmallow manifestation depicting the Mini Stay-Pufts)
  • Death Chill (A chocolatey-minty libation best served iced cold)
  • Stay S’mored (A blend that evokes everyone’s favorite campfire confection)

Additional flavors coming down the pike include:

  • Paranormal Pecan (A medley of candy, pecans and waffles)
  • Phantasmal Fudge (A gooey brown flavor blast)

Ghostbusters not your thing? How about traveling to the final frontier? There is a line of Star Trek-themed coffees to choose from as well. The new Star Trek branded coffees seek to celebrate the spirit of the legendary franchise by offering a flavorful array of carefully curated coffee blends inspired by the various aspects of the Star Trek universe.
