You see, these designs are created by artist all over the world who work out a deal with the clothing company that allows RIPT the rights to their artwork for a limited time and in return, the artists receive 10% of the total revenue from the sales. If you’re an artist, you can submit and design and they will let you know within 5-7 business days if they like it.

Based in Detroit, MI, RIPT Apparel was founded in 2009 by three life-long friends: TJ Mapes, Matt Ingleby and Paul Friemel. It is said that TJ focuses mostly on the continual development of the website and marketing (among 1,000 other things). Matt says that RIPT is his passion and over the years, he’s taken a bunch of different roles at the company from HR to Logistics. But its Paul that might be considered the heart and sole of the company. As an artist himself, Paul been drawing for as long as he can remember. Paul has worked in print, web and video production for over 10 years and he has helped artists get recognized one tee shirt at a time.
