Mickey Mouse has never been so popular or so it seems. In addition to his vast library of classic cartoons, he has starred in numerous TV series for ABC and Disney Channel and he even has his own theme park ride at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Orlando, Florida. The little guy has been about for nine decades, and it isn’t usual to find out that he’s had some work done over the years. In 2013, Disney Channel premiered a brand new series of Mickey Mouse cartoon shorts with a uniquely different style from anything that Walt Disney had done although they did have a lot of similarities to Walt’s early cartoons. During the five seasons of the series, 96 episodes were churned out by Paul Rudish. The series won seven Primetime Emmy Awards, two Daytime Emmy Awards and 21 Annie Awards. Not too shabby for Mr. Mouse and co.
In November, Rudish will be presenting a whole new round of shorts with a new title and music for Disney+. The streaming service (which is currently airing all of Rudish’s shorts) will begin presenting The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse which describe the new series as follows: “It’s nothing but fun and excitement for Mickey and his best pals as they embark on their greatest adventures yet, navigating the curveballs of a wild and zany world where the magic of Disney makes the impossible possible…Each short is filled with laugh-out-loud comedy, modern settings and timeless stories.” It doesn’t really tell us much. However, we do know that each of the new shorts will be seven minutes in length and will feature the same style artistic style (although it looks as if Goofy might have gotten some work done himself).
Many of the new crop of Mickey Mouse Shorts featured Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Minnie and Daisy in different areas of the world. The new toons will stay closer to home this time but will include some shorts that are inspired by the various “lands” at the Disney theme parks. Disney+ also says that they will include a few cameos by classic Disney heritage characters too.

Disney+ will release 10 new episodes of The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse in 2020 airing two cartoons each week beginning on Wednesday, November 18, (Mickey Mouse’s birthday) and then another 10 episodes will be loaded up during summer 2021. The first two shorts to be show are:
“Supermarket Scramble”
Mickey and his friends’ plans for a barbeque get sidetracked after a quick trip to the supermarket turns into an odyssey.
“Cheesewranglers”
Mickey Mouse attempts to wrangle a prized herd across the stunning vistas of the Big Thunder Valley, but Peg-Leg Pete stands in his way.
