‘Swamp Thing’ to Make a Brief Return

Swamp Thing

And he’s back! One of the surprising stars of DC Universe, the streaming service dedicated to all things DC Comics, was Swamp Thing which began airing on May 31, 2019. The weird thing is, the DC Universe promptly announced a week later that the show would end prematurely. While the first ten episodes of the show would aired as scheduled, the Swamp Thing pretty much just took a dip in the pool instead of a full workout session. Believe it or not, this was a shame as the live action show actually turned out pretty good. If you didn’t see the show, now is your chance to catch what you missed as The CW will be airing all ten episodes of the show on the network beginning next month.

When a mysterious illness strikes the small town of Marais, CDC investigator (and former Marais native) Dr. Abby Arcane (Crystal Reed) is sent to investigate. At the hospital, she encounters biologist Alec Holland (Andy Bean) who believes the bizarre illness might be connected to his scientific work in the swamp for powerful businessman Avery Sunderland (Will Patton). The show also stars Maria Sten, Jennifer Beals, Jeryl Prescott, Kevin Durand, Virgina Madsen, Henderson Wade and Ian Ziering.

Read my review from last year here. Swamp Thing premieres on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
