Get your jammies on and break out the Froot Loops – Saturday morning cartoons are back – 24 hours a day, seven days a week! MeTV, the network TV station that only plays vintage TV show has announced that it has partnered with Warner Bros. Discovery to bring a “sequel” station to the airwaves showing nothing but cartoons from Betty Boop to Rocky and Bullwinkle. Yes, they will be airing the good, the bad and the ugly for nostalgia buffs, their kids and their kid’s kids. There’s really something for everybody including longtime favorites like Bugs Bunny and The Jetsons, rare cartoon series like Hanna-Barbera’s Wait Till Your Father Gets Home, odd series based on Mr. T, Alf and Ed Grimley; and even The Greatest Adventure: Stories from the Bible.

Set to launch on June 25, 2024, MeTV Toons is considered a spin-off of MeTV and like its sibling, it’s free. MeTV Toons is said to have a format similar to the first few years of Cartoon Network and Boomerang. The new network will air 24/7 with Bob Bergen (the current voice actor for Porky Pig) serving as the network’s announcer. The network is even planning some original content with the help of Jerry Beck, an animation historian.

Some shows airing will be collections of cartoons. Some worth noting include:

• Cartoon All-Stars
  A “best-of” collection from Hollywood’s golden age with shorts from from Warner Bros, MGM studios, Columbia, Fleischer and others.
• Flintstones Family Sunday
  A variety of Flintstone TV specials and movies you might have missed while growing up.
• Caspar and Company
  The friendly ghost is back, and he’s brought friends. In addition to the classic Caspar cartoons, this show will also feature many of the other Harvey Comics cartoons like Little Audrey, Baby Huey, Herman and Catnip and more.
• Popeye and Pals
  A collection of original theatrical cartoons created by Max Fleischer. The series includes cartoons featuring Betty Boop and Bimbo.
• Scooby-Doo! Sunday Specials
  A mix of cartoons and specials featuring the favorite pooch and his human friends solving mysteries.
• Toon in With Me
  A late-night series featuring MeTV’s cartoon curator Bill and Toony the Tuna as they host a showcase of classic theatrical cartoons in the style of the old local TV network shows many of us grew up with before the internet.
• Totally Tooned In
  A weekend late night show featuring a collection of Columbia/UPA cartoons which include characters like Mr. Magoo, The Fox and the Crow, Gerald McBoing-Boing and others.
