Gravity is truly a one of kind film that is beautiful to look at, takes full advantage of today’s 3D technology and is spot on with the music and sound effects. Oh, and the acting is pretty good too.
Instead of a sequel, the folks at Pixar and Disney decided to go the prequel route to explore how these two oddballs met in the first place and the result is pretty favorable. There’s no re-hashing here, it’s a whole new story with familiar friends. Unlike other “origin” stories, this one is fun to sit through.
Zack Snyder took great pains to create a different movie than what we have been to used to seeing after the 2006 Superman Returns snooze-fest. Taking a cue from the Dark Knight series and getting a little help from Christopher Nolan himself, Snyder created not necessarily a darker story, but a much more serious one.
Jurassic Park is a one big morality lesson in that no matter how big you think you are or how big science is, neither is bigger than God. Man has never and never will be a suitable substitute.
