Jurassic World is Now Open
Sparing vitruary “no expense,” Universal Studios Hollywood has just re-opened the new-and-improved Jurassic World – The Ride. Formerly known as Jurassic Park – The Ride, the new experience aims to be bigger and better with a major overhaul keeping in step with the newer movies.
The new attraction features new film footage of Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard and BD Wong reprising their roles as Owen Grady, Claire Dearing and Dr. Henry Wu, and adds more iconic dinosaurs from the movie, including the colossal Indominus rex and the magnificent aquatic Mosasaurus. Don’t worry, the glass in the Aquarium Observatory Tank is strong enough to keep him safe from you. Or is it?
Jurassic World—The Ride captures the essence of the blockbuster movies and comes to life in collaboration with the award-winning and inspired minds at Universal Creative, Industrial Light & Magic, (a division of Lucasfilm, Ltd.), Universal Pictures and filmmakers Steven Spielberg, Colin Trevorrow and Frank Marshall.
As if that weren’t enough, this section of the park also features other new additions and enhancements. The all-new Raptor Encounter features Blue, the beloved Velociraptor from the Jurassic World movies, who engages with guests in daring face-to-face encounters. He is joined by two new dinosaurs – a Baby Raptor with her Raptor Handler and a life-size Triceratops who greet guests outside of the Jurassic World ride further enhancing the entire experience.
Younger dino fans will appreciate the interactive Dino Play area designed to inspire children of all ages to explore and excavate giant dinosaur fossils.
The Jurassic Café received an upgrade as well. It now features better-themed Costa Rican-inspired dishes and flavorful Tiki cocktails served at the tropical Isla Nu-bar.
Finally, the Jurassic Outfitters shop offers an array of souvenir collectible, limited edition and one-of-a-kind dimensional dinosaur sculptures inviting guests to savor a piece of this exciting thrill ride even after they have gone home.
